Wholesale Domain Name Auction

Afternic Bazaar is the place to go for great buys on domain names or to sell your domains quickly. It is all about quick auctions at low prices. The low prices are matched by low auction fees.

The Bazaar is for Afternic AfternicDLS Members only. Only AfternicDLS Members will be shown links from the exchange website to the Bazaar website. Afternic visitors and Buyer Members will not see the wholesale auctions and sale prices.

Auctions are opened with pre-purchased credits called Bazaar Bucks (BBs). Join Afternic as an AfternicDLS Member and get 10 free BBs. Current members can take part in this offer and get 10 free BBs by renewing their Afternic membership.

The Bazaar is a great place to get domain names at low wholesale prices. All domains are auctioned for $600 or less and the listing prices automatically decrease every hour. Use a proxy bid to specify the most that you are willing to pay. If the auction reaches your price first, you win! See the Buyer's Guide for more information about buying on the Bazaar.

There are no sales fees. You can list a domain for as little as 24 cents! Listings feature a new headline field that will show on the domain name lists without clicking to see listing detail. It is a good place to include traffic data or other relevant information that buyers can review quickly. See the Seller's Guide for pricing and for more information about selling on the Bazaar.

Buyer's Guide

There is no fee for bidding or buying on the Bazaar.

Bazaar auctions stay at their starting price for 24 hours. The price then drops every hour until the auction ends. The auction ends when a bid is made or when the stop price set by seller is reached without a bid. The most important thing to remember about a declining price auction is that the first offer wins the auction. The price may continue to drop, but you never know when someone else will make a bid or when the seller's stop price will be reached.

You can use proxy bidding to win an auction at the price you want to pay. If there is a price that you want to pay for a domain, but do not want to keep returning to check the status of an auction, you can place a proxy bid. Your bid will be made for you when the auction reaches your price. If more than one bidder places a proxy bid at the winning price, the first one to place a bid wins.

Your proxy bid cannot be removed. You can make a new higher proxy bid and you can always use the Buy Now button to make sure you will win an auction.

Escrow services are not included in standard Bazaar auctions but are available when desired. If you buy a domain, you are going to pay the seller and receive the domain transfer directly from the seller. You should review a seller's feedback before placing a bid on a Bazaar auction. If you are unsure of sending funds to a seller on the promise of a transfer, you can use our optional escrow service at a special Bazaar price of $30.

While you are browsing for good buys on the Bazaar, do not forget to check the Closing Soon box on Afternic's home page. Sometimes great deals at wholesale prices can be found there too, especially for domains with wholesale value of more than $600.

Seller's Guide

There are no sales fees and you can open a Bazaar auction for as little as 24 cents. Auctions are opened with pre-purchased credits called Bazaar Bucks. Listing fee is one Bazaar Buck (BB) per $100 of starting price. The starting price is your highest price. The maximum starting price for a Bazaar auction is $600.

Bazaar auctions stay at their starting price for 24 hours. The price then drops every hour until the auction ends. The auction ends when a bid is made or when your auction is at your stop price for one hour without a bid.

A declining price auction helps get the best price for your domain even when there is only one interested party. Someone interested in your domain never knows if someone else is prepared to place a bid or has already placed a proxy bid on your domain. In a regular auction with only one interested party, the winning bid will always be at your lowest price.

Escrow services are not included in standard Bazaar auctions but are available when desired. If you sell a domain, you are going to collect from the buyer and make the domain transfer directly to the buyer. If you have not established a favorable feedback history, you might want to include our Escrow service for your Bazaar auction. It is available for a special Bazaar price of $30. If you include escrow service, "Afternic Escrow (paid by seller)" will be displayed on your auction.

You must have sufficient Bazaar Bucks in your Bazaar Account before opening an auction. Generous discount are available for bulk purchases. We do not refund BB purchases or buy back unused BBs. If you want to share your BBs or sell surplus BBs you can push them into another Afternic account.

We automatically close your Afternic listing when you open a Bazaar auction for a domain that you have listed on Afternic.

When you open a Bazaar Auction, you must set two prices, a starting price and a stop price. The starting price is your highest price. This price will determine your listing fee. The auction will end without a sale if it is at your stop price for one hour without a bid. Set the stop price to $1 if you want to sell at any price. Be careful when setting prices. You will not be able to edit your auction once it has started. If you need to end an auction, you can use the Remove Auction button at the bottom of the your listing page. We do not refund listing fees for ended or unsuccessful auctions.

Your auction will stay at the starting price for 24 hours. After that, the price drops every hour. If you choose a stop price that is close to your starting price, your auction will not last very long. If you set your stop price at $1 and your domain does not sell, your auction will last about 9 days and 8 hours. If your stop price is 50% of your starting price, the auction will last about 5 days and 4 hours.

There are several reasons to set reasonable wholesale starting prices. This is a wholesale venue. Expect wholesale ending prices. Since the auction stays at the starting price for 24 hours before it starts to drop, more people will see your auction at the starting price than any other price. Do not waste this valuable first day with an unreasonable price. The price drops more dollars per hour if you set a higher starting price. If you set a higher price than your domain demands, when the dropping price approaches the value of your domain, it is going to be dropping faster. Therefore, the price will stay in the optimum range for a shorter time. You also pay a higher listing fee for your auction if you set a higher starting price.

If you are confident that your domain name has a wholesale value of more than $600, you should sell it on the exchange. We do not allow a starting price of more than $600 on the Bazaar. If you want to sell your domain quickly and not wait for an end user to come along that might pay much more for your domain, you should set a very low starting price and set the reserve the same price as the starting price. This should solicit a quick first offer. Once you have an offer, your domain will be featured on our Closing Soon box on our home page. The large traffic exposure to these Closing Soon listings should get you the best wholesale price available anywhere.
